What security protocols are implemented by PasseTonBillet for ticket exchanges?

At PasseTonBillet, several security protocols are deployed to help secure resale transactions between individuals. The measures implemented may vary depending on the event, the type of ticket, and the organizer’s requirements. The security protocol applied is always displayed on the event page before purchasing a ticket.

Main security measures

E-ticket analysis

Each ticket is analyzed to verify several elements: consistency of the information, price, presence and readability of the barcode, and detection of potential anomalies.

Price cap

Resale is strictly regulated. The resale price cannot exceed the ticket’s face value.

Seller verification (KYC)

Before any payout is made, several seller details are checked: identity document, email address, and bank details (IBAN).

Deferred seller payout after the event

Funds are held until the event has taken place, then paid to the seller after the event, allowing time for the management of any potential disputes.

Barcode control

Barcodes may be checked in connection with partner ticketing systems, when this feature is available for the event concerned.

Reissue of new tickets, depending on the event

For some events, PasseTonBillet may implement an enhanced security process, including:

Issuing a new ticket in the buyer’s name
Creating a new unique barcode
Invalidating the seller’s original ticket

When will you receive your payment?

If this is your first sale on PasseTonBillet, you must complete the validation of your seller profile. This includes adding your bank account details and, if required, verifying your identity.

Payment for your ticket is always made after the date of the event, with a minimum delay of 7 days after the sale on PasseTonBillet. On the day the transfer is made, you will receive an e-mail notification.

To find the exact payment date, you can go directly to the My tickets for sale section in your account.

How can you sell a ticket on PasseTonBillet?

✅ Click on resell a ticket at the top right of your screen: if you do not have an account, you will need to create one ✅ Then select the ticket category (concert, sports, train, etc.) ✅ Select your event from our list or create an event if it doesn't exist yet ✅ Your ticket will undergo a security check, which may take several hours. It will either be validated or rejected. ✅ Once your ticket is listed for sale, you’ll receive a confirmation email. ✅ After your ad is published, users can purchase and receive your e-ticket automatically, even if your IBAN and ID have not yet been verified.

⛔ Users will be able to purchase and receive your e-ticket without any validation from you. ⛔ You agree not to list your ticket on any platform other than PasseTonBillet. ⛔ If you decide to use the ticket yourself, you must immediately remove it from PasseTonBillet.

Your barcode number can be found in the PDF document you received when purchasing your ticket. We recommend copying and pasting it to save time and avoid errors.

Why was your ID refused?

The security of transactions between buyers and sellers is our priority. In accordance with the “Know Your Customer” KYC regulations, identity verification is mandatory to receive money when selling a ticket.

To have your profile verified, you must first submit a photo of your ID ( ${color}[#2d9226](photo taken with your smartphone) and ${color}[#e81111](never scan) ) and submit it in the 'My Profile' > 'Verify my Identity' tab. Then, the information will be quickly (15 minutes) validated or rejected by our financial partner MangoPay.
