Understanding alerts and ticket availability
Alerts are based on a real-time availability system: as soon as a ticket is listed for sale, all users who have activated an alert for that event receive a notification at the same time.
For some highly requested events, thousands of people may try to buy the same ticket at the same time. It can therefore be sold within seconds, sometimes before you have even had time to open the listing.
What you need to know
- An alert does not guarantee that you will have time to buy the ticket. It notifies you as soon as it becomes available.
- It is not a reservation or privileged access: the sale remains open to everyone, on a first-come, first-served basis.
- This can be frustrating for very high-demand events, but it remains the only way to be informed in real time when an opportunity becomes available.
